Best time of the year.

I truely believe that this is the best time of the whole year. Time has changed and the days are shorter. Temperatures have finally dropped and we can enjoy the great outdoors.

I love sleeping with the windows open. Even though we live near the railroad tracks and the train whistles do have a way of ruining a good nights sleep - usually at 2:00 AM or so.

I am working on 3 different craft projects at the same time. One is sewing - one is crochet and one is knitting. All three are for Christmas gifts and if time permits, I have plans to do several more.

There just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to do all I want to do. Working a full time job really gets in the way of my "play time." If it weren't for the paycheck - I would never show up for work. I work in an accounting office and generate payroll checks all week long. Seems that I get to be everybodies "favorite person" - at least on payday ! I leave work most days with a sense of accomplishment eventhough I will be doing the very same thing over again, next week.

The picture above is just one I found on line. I wish I lived near somewhere that looked like that. This part of Texas has very little to offer in the way of landscape beauty. Its just flat and dry here. I wonder some times how on earth I ended up here - after growing up in Colorado. I could have easily moved back up north after my divorce - but by that time my kids and grandkids were all here. Guess I couldn't leave my comfort zone.

Friday Afternoon - TGIF

There they are - these are 2 more of my four legged friends.
Chester and Gizzy - Mother (white) and son (brown) actually.
Gizzy was a "rescue" puppy and delivered 3 babies just shortly after we got her. Chester was the runt of the litter and was just too darned cute to send away.

Just a bunch of spoiled rotten kids if you ask me !!

I was always a "cat-person". Can somebody please explain to me how I have ended up with 4 dogs??

Hello and welcome to my first attempt to "Blog".
They say that if you are lucky you will have the chance to learn someting new every day of
your life. But I am finding that the trick is remembering what it is you have learned and where the heck did you put it. Being in my 50's is not nearly at terrible as I always thought it would be. To be honest, I am having a "blast".
Living in North Texas, for the past 15 years, I guess I have dug in for the long haul. I have 4 great grown up kids and 5 amazing grandchildren. Everything you have ever heard about being a grand-parent is true. Nothing but "KIX & CHERRIOS".
I am having a mad passionate love affair with a fella that just happens to be my husband of 3 years. Shhhhh - don't tell anybody !!
It took me forever to find him......seems like a lifetime. I know you've all heard that old line about soul mates and such - so I won't describe it that way. Lets just say that we're really good for each other and leave it at that.

My Second Attemp

Yesterdays attempt didn't work so well. Guess I will give this a second try.

I work so hard to avoid situations that tend to make me feel stupid.....and so far this blogging is doing exactly that.

The photo above is the newest addition to my family. She is 3 months old and so far I have not been able to come up with a name. Nothing seems to fit. She is a Min-Pin so it stands to reason that she needs a BIG name. So far the only name we've used is "Lil-Bit".

Introducing a new puppy to the pack we already have has proven to be a whole lot of fun. I keep telling my husband that there is a limit of 4 animals per family and now that we have reached our limit - I can not bring any more home. (legally) ???
